Visit the botanical gardens near Gatwick
A great day out for everyone, Wakehurst Botanical Garden is the home to 2km of stunning greenery, woodlands, water gardens and wetland conservation areas.
The wetlands are filled with a range of plants, birds and insects and are between the lake and reservoir in the woods. And don’t forget to explore Bloomer’s Valley, which is an area of lush grassland that also houses a number of wildlife residents.
The gardens belong to part of Wakehurst Place, which was a 16th-century mansion. It’s now also the home to Kew’s Millennium seed bank – the world’s biggest conservation project.
How can I get there from Holiday Inn Gatwick Airport?
It’s only a 21-minute drive via M23.
